One-on-One or small group reading intervention and support, K-6. Did your child struggle to read at grade level this year? Maybe he caught up, but it was a little challenging. Set your son(s) and/or daughter(s) up for success! I provide personalized tutorials for students in K-4 either privately or in small groups. Allow your children to practice skills they’ve learned, and build new skill sets for the upcoming year. Most students fall weeks behind and “lose” a chunk of learning over the summer break if they are not actively engaged in learning. Not only will my students have the opportunity to reinforce/practice their current skills/knowledge, they’ll be building new, powerful skill sets such as critical thinking and study skills. You’d be amazed at the difference a child feels when they are organized and on top of their assignments. I also incorporate a short brain training game or challenge at the top of each lesson to facilitate learning. We always have so much fun, kids forget they are learning!
I have 15 years teaching and as an academic case manager for special education. I have a Master’s Degree in Education and many post-graduate credits.
I’m available Monday-Friday,9-5, and can come to your home or meet with your child at the library or coffee shop-whatever is more convenient. I service the New London area. One-on-one tutorials are $50.00 per hour. If YOU put together a small group of students [maximum 5}, the cost is $25.00 per hour per student.
